Why Orchard Eagles Running Club?
Because it’s the #BestClubInTheWorld! Everyone is made to feel so welcome. The club is fully inclusive and supportive of all. My running has improved, and, most importantly, I’ve made so many friends!

Why did you start running?
To lose weight! Did it work? Yes – when combined with a healthy diet. But weight control is an on-going battle for me. I love food too much. As it turns out, running helps me massively with my mental health. I say, ‘running is my medicine’.

Which is your favourite event?
I think I’ve enjoyed every event I’ve done, all for different reasons. I enjoy road. I enjoy trail. I like to run in groups. I also like solo runs. I have run from 5k up to marathon distance. I just like to run. Always run.

What is your proudest running achievement?
I have several stand-out moments from running: completing Couch to 5k; getting my first sub 30 minute parkrun; running my first ever half; managing to finish the Hardmoors Roseberry half marathon; and, of course, completing my first full – the Yorkshire Marathon in 2019. I was also delighted to receive Best Female Newcomer to club for 2018. Oh, and getting my 50th and 100th parkruns in! I love parkrun!
