Carole
Treasurer & Cross Country Lead
I started running in my late 50’s in 2019 when my husband and dog were both injured so couldn’t walk with me. I started run-walking and then signed up for Race for Life in memory of my first husband. I was out on my bike one evening and met a group of Eagles on a club run and happened to mention I had started running and could do 5k so they invited me to the next club run. I will never forget my first session of hill repeats, Goose Pastures, Stinky Bank and Stony Bank!
The club has been really supportive and encouraging and I have now run two road marathons, and lots of half marathons. Most of all I love trail running and have done lots of the Lakeland Trails and did all the Hardmoors halves last year. Next challenge is a Hardmoors marathon and a Lakeland ultra.
I have recently retired and am delighted to have joined the committee as Treasurer and Vice-chairman. My experience includes having been treasurer at a pre-school and I have been a trustee director of Norton Sports Charity since 2017.
